Moi, je veux une barrette!

After reading Elle France's article about 2011 ss hair style trends I've been obssessing a bit about barrettes.     The barrettes have  disappeared for a while, but now they are making a big comeback and I've been searching for the perfect one.
I'm especially inclined for barrettes that have a minimal style, in terms of size, shape and colour. I'm in love with those created by Sylvain Le Hen (available at Colette), because they are flat, minimal, the color range is perfect and I'm guessing they are wonderful for thin hair like mine. Yet I was a bit puzzled when I saw the price tag (around 45 euros for each individual barrette), and those by Prada are around  a whopping 75 euros each.
I love the creations by France Luxe (they claim the barrettes are made in France and they look super stylish) but also the vintage finds on Etsy and Ebay (beautiful vintage Sonia Rykiel barrettes on Ebay), the ones by Alexandre de Paris are also perfect and those available at drugstores.
I intend to wear my barrette this spring exclusively on the side.

Sidepart with barettes is just sweet and quaint. And definetely turtleshell, monochromatic or matte. Definitely no blings on em'. I'll be sure to hit ebay and etsy to find some sweet vintage one.

Very cute. I saw a lovely vintage leaf one on Etsy the other day. But I really like those simple oblong ones in one colour.

I haven't even considered wearing a barrette, but after seeing that first picture- the short bob- I want one.

I love this post! I recently got some of the bobby pins from France Luxe and they are so nice. I got the set that has black marbled tortoiseshell, so pretty.

I bought a barette from Alexandre de Paris just 2 days ago at Le Bon Marché. I love this kind of hair accessories. But unfortunately it's quite expensive...

Take care,
Anaïs.
