summer in the city (tumblr style)

Hello.I don't have interesting photos of vacations abroad to share with you right now, since I am still working. This is my rough guide to spend sunny days of summer in the city while working.
Tourism, human circulation considered as consumption is fundamentally nothing more than the leisure of going to see what has become banal. Guy Debord
***

I. More cigarrette breaks. Please. Watch people in the street. Inhale. How many trees are across the street? Is the sky cloudy? Must send that e-mail by 12:00.Exhale.Repeat.Inhale. How much does a trip to Joshua Tree costs? Exhale.

ii.Wear an above the knee denim skirt with a black sweater. Keep a jacket around just in case.

iii. Cultivate yourself. Go to museums and art shows. Now.

iv. Drink plenty of fluids.

v. It's okay to feel depressed when everyone else is on vacation and with some sort of exciting, adventurous plan. Weirdly enough I often feel very nostalgic during summer.

vi. Learn new things. Feel excited about it.

vii. your home is your castle. Enjoy it more.

viii. Protect your eyes from dangerous sunrays.

iv. Flirt with a handsome stranger. And let it go away.

Every time I look into his eyes I just want to take the ice cream or whatever I’ve got in my hand and rub it into his face. That’s how much I like him. Banana Yoshimoto (Goodbye Tsugumi)

Dear Mignonette, I love your blog, the pictures you post, and the little texts you write. But the cigarette thing ? Can I say that I don't love it at all ?
I've got pictures of my dad in the 60's, in Paris, with longish brown hair and skinny legs, looking dead cool with a nonchalant cigarette in one hand and a paintbrush in the other.
Now he's on oxygen 24/7, and I feed him, wash him, and give him his medicine four times a day.
I know you know smoking is bad for your health. It makes me sad that you do it anyway.
(The denim skirt and black sweater, though - THAT I wholeheartedly agree with !)

I love the "summer in the city theme!" Like Emma I'm on board with the smoking, but it did give me some ideas for what to do since I won't be able to take any romantic trips this summer either due to work.

Sorry for the typo! I meant "not on board"

Oh, i love Belbury Poly! So nice to see them listed here.

And vacation, what is that??? I cannot recall my last one, sadly, but may strive to alter this soon.

You capture a similar mood here, to my own recent dreams and sensations.
